1. Choose the Circle POS System that’s Right for You:
The Square POS from Block is our top recommendation for the best POS for small businesses. There are also Circle Appointments, Circle for Retail, and Circle for Restaurants. For handling products, orders, and customers, each product has its app. To learn more about each Circle POS product, click on the tabs.
2. Sign up for a free Circle account.
To use Block’s POS, you must first establish a free account. Many business owners are concerned about setting up a point-of-sale system since some systems involve specialized installation, additional business account applications, or other time-consuming and costly procedures. On the other hand, the technique for it is pretty quick, and once you’ve accomplished each stage, you can immediately set up your store and start selling—no need to wait for the approval. Furthermore, whatever information you submit at registration may be changed later, so don’t get too worked up about minor details.
3. Select either “Quick” or “Full” Setup.
There are two ways to set up the area: If you want to explore all of Block’s features, select the whole setup. You may change any feature or setting on the Shaped Dashboard at any time, so don’t worry if you want to change something later.
4. Put your company’s name here.
The next step is to inform Block about your company. This is the name that your customers will see on their receipts and bank statements. Your company name should be no more than 40 characters long. If you mistakenly close out of the Circle screen, your session times out, or you click the refresh button after generating your login, you’ll be directed back to your Corner Dashboard to finish the setup. There will be suggestions to help you fill in any gaps in your knowledge.
5. Decide on a business model.
You must select the type of business you run in the next step. The regular POS at Place is perfect for casual or general POS use. Additionally, there are retail, restaurant, and appointment-only possibilities. Within each software program, there are several templates and settings for various business types. 6. Figure out how you’ll take money.
A Circle POS account allows for in-person transactions, invoicing, and online sales. With its online system, you can provide order-ahead, curbside pickup, and contactless in-store ordering via QR codes. Customers could also use gift cards to make purchases.
7. Double-check all of your personal information.
Regardless of whether or not merchant services require permission, your identity must be verified before you may receive transactions. You’ll only need to submit your name, address, birth date, phone number, and the last four digits of your Social Security Number to complete the procedure. You also won’t have to worry about a credit check.
8. Decide on a company address.
After entering your personal identifying information, choose where your business will operate: at home, on the go, or elsewhere.
9. Please enter your banking institution’s information.
Connect the bank account to which deposits should be sent. To validate your account, it will withdraw and then re-deposit a one-cent charge. Verification could take up to four business days to complete. Any sales proceeds will be held in your Circle Balance until your bank account has been verified.

11. Set up Add-Ons
Remember how in Step 5, you choose additional payment options like online payments and invoicing? The last step is to hang them. If you select “Sell online,” you’ll have four options: a single shopping page, shoppable social media, an entire website, an online marketplace, or purchase buttons.
